Small wooden equipment box

Hi all - I don't have this in hand yet, but I'd like to know what it reads and what it held. Thanks for any help.

Only 6 1/2" x 5" x 1 1/2". Sure has some intricate and specialized slots for things. Cheers, Bob

The kanji on the top of the box translates to "spare [parts] box."

P.S. Unfortunately, I have no clue as to what may have gone into this box or what this spare parts box was for.
