Hello, Mike: Saw your message regarding chin straps. A gentleman named Joel Choy (royale_sojin@hotmail.com) in Canada sells very good repro chinstraps, and he even "rusts" the rings. He also sells a very good pigskin liner. I have bought several things form him and he is very helpful. I hope this helps.

I got a pair of those joel choy chinstraps and sent the quickly right back not even close. Wrong color , material and looked like Helen keller stitched them. Stewart's sell the best I have seen

Speaking of rings. I too tried to obtain a set of rings for a hack helmet that had been repainted. In Australia, the hardware stores sell very small keyrings that are almost identicle size. I too purchased some repro chinstraps and yes - only 2 rings; same story the vendor would not sell one more. I also had an old mini maglite torch which had a small ring that as someone mentioned was very similar and size. Finally I found someone on ebay selling split rings the correct size both shiny and aged at a reasonable price. Have not seen him in recent times. I would like to clarify with the rings, some appear of the split keyring type whilst others seem to be one solid ring riveted together (like a chainmail ring) . Is there any pattern to these types/ and/others that anyone is aware of?

Folks, any feedback on the different types of attachment rings on the Japanese WW2 military helmets?
