$400,000 for a flag from Dachau? I don't think the British Colours that were lost and recovered during the Zulu War would be worth that much.
But even $3000 for that Japanese flag! That's about 20 times what I think I'd pay for it! I guess the figures he needs to find one buyer who has too much money and not enough brains!

In general, women are divided into two extreme groups when dealing with militaria.
One group (i.e. my wife's) could sell your collection at the garage sales for less $10 a piece. They're careless about militaria.
Another group, trying to sell something they not familiar with for an astronomical price.

yeah I know it's crazy. It's not the first time I have seen a stupid price on a relatively common item. I once saw a chick put a WW2 matchbox holder that belonged to her father, on eBay... I think she was asking AU$10,000!
You gotta wonder what makes people find things like this and put such a high price on it. More to the point; if someone isn't bidding on your auction you would think "hmmm maybe the price is too high"... the original post in this thread was about a Japanese flag that was advertised for $3000, unsurprisingly it didn't sell however the kicker is she relisted it at the same price!

My favorite was from maybe 6 months ago on eBay. Something to the effect of:
German Dagger: $5000.00 ( it was a beat down army or something totally common). Somebody had asked the seller if they knew what they were doing and how could a reasonable person ask that much. The sellers response was "yes, it's expensive, but it's a real German dagger". Needless to say the dagger never sold.
Classic!

I'm not surprised. I've never met anyone from Flippin that has more than a 6th grade education. What does amaze me is the fact this person figured out how to get online...
BTW, 6th grade to a person in Flippin equals a college degree. But, outside of Flippin it translates to somewhere around grade 3.
