    Battle damaged bayonet

    Here is a battle damaged bayonet that goes with the battle damaged type 38 rifle I have posted. It shows a shrapnell hit to the tip of the scabbard. It damaged the tip of the blade as well. The bayonet was in the scabbard when it was hit. Also, as a side note there appears to be heavy "blood pitting" on the outside of the scabbard. It looks like you can see where blood had been pooled against the scabbard. Just my thought.??
