    Patch ID Please

I picked this up at an antique show and thought it was Japanese - Imperial Navel Petty Officer?

    Patch

This is a Japanese Navy Seaman 2nd Class rank patch (not a repro). This is not a Petty Officer....there are two ranks below this one. This is one of 7 Enlisted patches. The Japanese navy began wearing these after Nov 1942 thru the end of the war. They were worn on the right sleeve and tacked on to the uniform with a stitch of thread at each of the 5 corners. There is a metal cherry blossom that is placed between the top of the anchor and the stripes that denotes the sailor's job speciality. Take a close look and if the patch was worn there may be a small hole in that area. The blossoms are colored.....yellow= line, red=medical, light blue=aviation, royal blue=band, white=finance, green=aviation maintenance, purple=engineering, and a very late war & rare brown=technical corps. There are also 2 special training patches worn on the left sleeve that can go with these
    Hope this helps.....
    John

Got it at an Antiques Show in Pendleton Oregon. Funny but a guy that sold this was selling Militaria (overpriced) and it was in a box of stuff. Also found a Mexican border service ribbon from the 30's in the same box.

Maybe he was making up for trying to get more than its worth. Would you sell that. I will be willing to pay. Just name your price

Anyone have any pictures of these patches and the special training patches? Also how to you tell if they are original?
