I am excited to finally report that Schiffer Publishing, Ltd. has agreed to publish my book on yosegaki hinomaru and senninbari (and related stitch items.) For those who offered to let me use some of their items for photographic purposes, thanks again. Once I get the details from the publisher I will recontact those who sent me pictures of their flags, belts, etc. After I speak with the editor, I will have a better sense as to scope of the book, and how many examples I might include. It is possible that they will consider doing a 2 volume set- a book on each topic. I will let you all know. Mike

Japanese Good Luck Flags....
Hi Jim-
So glad to see you appear here Jim! Yes, it did take some time to bring it all together since the last time I spoke with you! I hate to admit it here too, but I lost your email address. I have tried tracking you down to no avail... even here on the Forum. How has your research been going on Naval Suicide Sqd. flags? I wanted to let you know that the naval aviation flag that I spoke with you about a few years ago is listed on this forum under the thread "unknown naval aviation flag" or something like that (it is only a few threads down on the list.) Take a look at it and let me know what you think. While the insignia is similar to the one on the armband, etc. listed in the thread it is not exactly the same. Look forward to hearing what you have to say....
Finally, the signed Manchurian flag is still in my possession and will appear in the "Misc. Signed Flag" section in the back of the book. Drop me a line and let me know what you have been up to..... Mike

Japanese Good Luck Flags....
Boyt44-
Thanks for the message. I will keep everyone posted on the progress of the book. The manuscript is completed, and all of the illustrations are in place. I am awaiting word to find out how in depth and detailed the publisher is going to get with my ideas. I understand that as the writer, you sometimes don't always get what you want, but I am sure it will be an interesting and informative work for collectors and historians.
