Ok guys heres another one you can translate if yo like off my holster strap

- the kanji "Tanikawa" or "Tanigawa" which is the last name of the platoon commander
- the kanji "93361" in parenthesis

I think if you look at the larger image you'll see the circle contains the hiragana "mu".

Can the "Sho/O" be part of the family name, Otanigawa? Although the first kanji is "sho" meaning small, it is often pronounced "O" in names -- not to be confused with "large" that is also pronounced "O" [dunno why "not to be confused" because I often am!].

I have found the name "Otanigawa", but in kanji it uses the "O/dai" kanji.
