Translation on sling

I would appreciate your help if someone could help with the translation on this sling. Came with a early type 99 I picked up a couple of months ago.

The characters on the cloth tag are the soldier's/sailor's last name (i.e., Aoyagi) and first name. (I was unable to successfully make out the person's first name...perhaps one of the other folks that frequent the forum will be able to decipher the first name.)

Howdy again. I asked my wife -- she say's it is "Matsuzaka Tai" [Matsuzaka Unit]. The unit's senior officer must be someone named Matsuzaka.

Time for the experts to get busy researching! :^D
