    Neat Japanese Bayonet

I got this indirect from Vet the story is this was the first Kill he had so he kept the Bayo and belt. When he returned to the states he hung it out in a shed and so it kind of became a fossil. The neat part is the blade is as it was at issue still has cosmoline on it. I guess the new soldier never even used the Bayonet. This is one of my favorite Pacific War items Hope you enjoy

          Wulf90,

Thanks for posting the photos of your Japanese Type 30 (i.e., Model 1897) bayonet with frog and service belt.

From what I can see in the photos, the bayonet was made by Toyoda Automatic Loom Works, under Nagoya Arsenal supervision, and it what Japanese bayonets collectors refer to as a Variation B JB 101 (i.e., a Japanese Type 30 bayonet with bird's head pommel, contoured wrap-around grips, straight cross-guard, and blued, fullered, blade).

              More Japanese Bayonets

Here are three more bayonets. Again, my camera doesn't seem to have much of a reach when it comes to close-ups, sorry. The first bayonet I purchased as a kid for $5.00 many years ago. It is in almost mint condition. I can't recall the mfg. The other two are in worn, but nice condition, Kokura and Denki arsenal marked. Mike

For some reason the computer keeps adding the same image, so I will skip the last shot on the second bayonet. Here is the third bayonet.
