Army helmet with wire net
Cpt-
Generally wires are placed on a helmet to act as a framework in order to fasten (when desired) camouflage items. The Japanese used a variety of netting to fulfill this purpose- body netting, and issue helmet netting come to mind first. Wire "netting" was much stronger and held up better. Eric's example is quite interesting in that wire netting on Japanese helmets was not the norm. Many examples of wire "netting" do exist as used by the Nazis, however. One of the more common modes was to use chicken wire. Mike
