Hello all. Rather than hijack a thread, here's a repeat photo of flag number 1. Edokko and Hisako were good enough to help with a partial translation.
This flag belonged to Kaigun/Navy pilot Yokota Norio. It mentions the Tokko-tai/ Special Attack Squadrons and Kamikaze. There is also a poem that translates :
"For thy dear emperor, no need for sorrow to a young cherry blossom, as this life be well worth when this petal falls. The tiger leaves his skin in death, but man will leave his name upon death".
MikeB, can you add anything? Does anyone here read Japanese? Has anyone ever seen a Tokko-tai Kamikaze flag before? Value?
