    model 98 tunic opinions please

    I have just picked this up, and its an unissued model 98 tunic. any and all comments as to authenticity, or anything else appreciated. I am a novice on Japanese collecting. Thank You

          Peter,

          From what I can see in the photos, you have a standard Army Type 98 (i.e., Model 1938) enlisted man's winter service tunic that was never issued.

          According to the procurement office stamping on the inside of the tunic, the tunic is a size five; is dated 1939; and was procured by through the main (i.e., Tokyo) Supply Depot.

            Peter, ebay has been flooded with mint/surplus/unissued tunics. Do a search on ebay. Many have had original collar tabs added post war.
