    Great covers...thank you for sharing the photos of the covers with us.

    On a side note, I do have a photo of the markings on an issued, and dated, Navy first pattern helmet cover that I had that I will scan and post on the forum later tonight.

          Here is a close-up of the procurement office stamping on the inside of the cover...

          Note the stamping indicates that the cover was procured by the Maizuru Naval Military Supply Depot and that the cover was issued to a Hayakawa (not sure of the kawa character in the second part of the last name) of the SHI or SA platoon in May 1941. The characters on the bottom of the stamping are the name of the company that supplied the cover. (These characters are too hard for me to read from the photo.)
