    Small knife Japanese?

Hi all seen this knife/dagger/letter opener for sale. Curious if you think it might actually be Japanese and WW2 era, Supposedly was brought back by a WW2 pacific vet. Looks old but is rough, sellers asking $300 but I’m sure that’s like 3x the value. I’m wondering if maybe it’s something from the period or just postwar junk or an occupation creation. Maybe a letter opener or a suicide knife?

    thanks all

    Hi Dasboot.

The letter opener looks like a Thai Dhab or Burmese Dha sword -- it slightly flares at the last 1/4 of the blade. Not worth that type of money at all; heck, you can get a real full-sized one for $400 (and cheaper ... especially the tourist ones).
