    Books of value to collectors

I have been collecting since I was 15 British was easy I grew up with it .I then started collecting German stuff and after being stung numerous times bought a whole lot of books to learn.

collectiong Japanese items seems harder .I have the osprey books and some others , but found a book in a junk shop that has really impressed me on Japanese symbols etc

    its the
    Handbook on Japanese Military Forces
    US War Dept

has as anyone else know of books worthy of praise and assistance in collecting Japanese items

There are some relatively recent threads dealing with reference books. So you might try reference or books as search terms. I still think Mike Hewitt's work is a nice general reference on the subject. Labar's book on Japanese bayonets and Dr. Bortner's book on flags and thousand stitch belts are must haves also. There are other books of course and some are really obscure.
