    Who is this General Please?

    Can anyone translate the name (if that is what is written below the picture)? Thanks, Zach

    Excellency Okamoto (Former) Division Commander of the Imperial Guards
    To have the style "excellency," one must be at the General level.

    His full name:
    岡本 連一郎
    Okamoto Ren'ichiro

    Japanese Wiki. Shows names of commanders. Okamoto was the 24th commander and appointed on:
    昭和5年(1930年)12月22日 22 December 1930

            Is the badge bottom right breast the general officers badge ? Just learning these I have company grade badges .

                The reason I inquired about the identity of the general in this photo (found on the internet) is because I have a private photo of Okamoto which has been my Avatar on here for years. The photo I have shows an even clearer picture of his awards and badges. In this case the badge in question is actually an Army Staff College Graduate Badge.
