Swords of Yasukuni book - Any Thoughts?

    Hi.
Just a general question: I'm thinking of getting that new book "Swords of Yasukuni." Does anyone have it, and care to comment on its quality? I've had the Fuller/Gregory book and the Sato and Yumoto books for years and loved 'em.

    Thanks,
    Best,
    Gunnar

    Aloha Gunner!
Is the book called, “The Yasukuni Swords, Rare Weapons of Japan 1933-1945” by Tom Kishida.......... I personally feel it’s a great book, right up there with Fuller and Dawson’s books on WW2 swords. Not to much on the mountings but still I feel it was very informative of its history. Has great pictures of the mei (signatures) and would surely help I think if purchasing an Yasukuni sword.
    Mahalo,

      yasukuni sword book

      Hi Rodney,
Yep, that's the book. Thanks for sharing your thoughts. Money's a bit tight with me at the moment but I'll see if I can't drop not so subtle hints for my family's Christmas list this year!

      Thanks,
      Gunnar

I'm not sure where you are ordering it from, but the japanese Sword Society US has copies at http://jssus.org/ I highly recommend the book This book is soft bound, is 81/2 x 11, is soft bound, and contains 116 pages.
It is accompanied by a 145 page translation, whic is also 81/2 x 11.
Cost is 55.00 plus a surcharge to cover shipping & handling, insurance, and CC charges, usually 10.00 in the US, shipped priority mail.
