    Translation request. Ordnance artillery wrench markings

    This is available, seller claims it’s Japanese artillery related, a large cast iron wrench. Has this inscription on the side. Help is appreciated.

    二十四珊米臼砲用
    24cm Mortar Use [mortar cannon]

    Both [a type of grain] and [coral] are old kanji and make the "applied" sound "senchi" of centimeter. The kanji for rice is the applied sound "mehtoru" for meter.

      1890年代,二十四珊米臼砲在5公里以上。
      日俄戰爭時擄獲二十三珊臼砲12門,砲彈三千發。
      Bore and range accuracy
      In the 1890s, 24 cm mortars were over 5 km.
      During the Russo-Japanese War, there were twelve 33cm mortar cannon and three thousand rounds.
