24cm Mortar Use [mortar cannon]

Both 糎 [a type of grain] and 珊 [coral] are old kanji and make the "applied" sound "senchi" of centimeter. The kanji for rice 米 is the applied sound "mehtoru" for meter.

In the 1890s, 24 cm mortars were over 5 km.
During the Russo-Japanese War, there were twelve 33cm mortar cannon and three thousand rounds.
