Japanese Helmet

Hi All
I've been offered a nice Type 90 Helmet, it's complete and honest in every way but the star has been replaced. How much of a difference does a missing star on a Japanese helmet make to it's value. Is it worth getting.

Any advice would be much appreciated

To be honest most collectors like to have their helmet with the orig. star,chin strap and liner helmet with out orig. star is hard to sell at a high price. I would have to see the helmet you are talking about before I or anyone for that matter could give you a ball park price.

Thanks for the info Dennis. I'm not particularly bothered about the price as I think it's cheap anyway, I was just wondering how much it would be devalued not having the original star. It's complete in every way having it's chin straps etc, it even has a Royal Canadian Military Institute stamp on it. The guy wants £350 for it, what's that about $42
