    石堂輝秀作
    Ishidō Teruhide-saku
    Made by Ishidō Teruhide

    From Markus Sesko's book:

TERUHIDE (輝秀), Meiji (明治, 1868-1912), Tōkyō – “Teruhide” (輝秀), family name Ishidō (石堂), he was the grandson of the 7th gen. Korekazu (是一)

Thank you for the translation. Always much appreciated. Here is a picture of the sword.

          Nick,

Interesting. Were both father (9th) and son (10th) working at the same time, using the same/similar signature?

          Thanks,

Andy, you're killin' me! Can we get some clear, close-ups of the handle, the hand-guard, and one of the mid-blade temper line (hamon) and one of the blade tip? :begging:

Thanks!!! (some of us need our fix more than others!)

Thanks Andy! Withdrawal symptoms abated for a while! Very nice 2-tone rising sun seppa! Not common, and associated with custom orders. Waiting to see more of that handle wrap. Looks leather from that last shot. Interested to see if original or a post war redo.

The tip of the blade. I believe that everything is pretty much the way it was originally. Minus the piece of cellophane wrapped around the handle. A customer of mine recently bought this from another customer of mine. The story is that the seller's father brought the sword back from Tarawa. I'll see if I can get a couple more pictures. Thanks.
