sos pick up No 2 Headquarter tropical helmet

Tom Kibler , who has a sharp eye saw this and grabbed it for me.Big thanks there always looking out for me.I have to say that my collection is due to others John Egger, Tom Kibler ,Dean K ,Mike B and Shu .So really my collection is their collection .I am told its a head quarter unit .Its got battle damage to the top .Looks like a bullet just grazed the top of the helmet

Love this one! I liked it the moment Tom found it.

Jareth I am not sure its a small piece of what looks like bandage folded over and over and sewn onto the helmet .Does anyone else know the reason ?

I can't read the tag clearly, plus the cord is in the way.

                Very nice example.

My grandfather brought back a similar pith example (from Iwo) with the HQ sewn to the side, but the kanji was different on that one.

If a crisper pic. of the unit number could be posted, maybe the last location of the unit can be figured out.

That one with the name is not large/sharp/clear enough to make out the missing kanji. Did get the owner's full name.
