Japanese dog tag help

Can someone help me determine the unit. The unit code is 115 but I can’t find anything to match it in the Japanese unit code book.

I cannot tell if 聯 ren [rentai/regiment] is crossed out.

Yes, it is 聯 Ren [rentai] and it is not crossed out.

聯隊 -- Rentai; Regiment. Old pre-1946 kanji
連隊 -- Rentai, Regiment. Current post-1946 kanji.


I'm just curious why it has 聯 砲 中 down the center .... it doesn't make sense to me unless .... "Regimental Artillery" Battery. But I do not know!

Well ...... *that's* frightening.
Then I guess the 歩 一一五 actually means 115th Infantry. Earlier I said 兵 一一五 ("Soldier 115"), but I copied the wrong kanji!!!
