    Advisory: K95 Sword

    Hi guys,

Could somebody recommend a reputable site to purchase a WW2 K95 sword?

While not my main area of interest, I would like one of these to add a Pacific tint to my collection.

    Any recommendations?

    Many thanks!

I'll PM you. I have a couple coming in than I intend to sell. Don't have them yet, but should be arriving within a week.

I've gotten mine from a combination of ebay, dealers, and auction sites. The auction sites can be the cheapest ( not always!), but it can be iffy with the poor pictures provided at some of them. Ebay is risky if you don't know how to spot the fakes, but tend to run average market prices. Dealers are the safest place (not 100% gaurantee) but they tend to sell at the high-end of market price, or even above.

Auctions - I use Proxibid, Invaluable, and Liveauction. They are sites that gather upcoming auctions from around the country.

Dealers - Gunto Art Swords: http://www.guntoartswords.com/
        Crimson Mist: https://www.cmmilitaryantiques.com/
are two I have bought from. There are many others, but they tend to sell higher-end nihonto and not NCO Type 95s. I could be wrong about that, though.

If you are referring to a Type 95 Army NCO sword then the Estand or one of the other members who frequent the Japanese sub forum is as good as anywhere and likely better than most.

There were several variations. Were you aware of that and if so do you have a preference?

Have a look through this thread and get an idea of what's available.
