    {昭}関住人小島兼則作
    {Shō}Seki Jūnin Kojima Kanenori-saku

Made by Seki Resident Kojima Kanenori

The other side might have the date.

Kanenori 兼則, real name Kojima Taro 小島太郎 was born 1907 in Gifu prefecture and was one of the most representative smiths in Showa era who belonged to his elder brother's Kojima Kanemichi school. He is listed in the Toko Taikan, Gendai Toko Meikan and Nihonto Meikan.
During WWII he was appointed as a Rikugun Jumei Tosho and worked for Japanese army. He won 1941 Exhition - 1st prise + numerous awards in the annual New Sword Exhibitions.
