    Sidecap identification

    I own the illustrated sidecap and am wondering if anybody can enlighten me as to what Army and unit it relates to ?

    I'm pretty sure that it's Swiss Army, but what unit, rank and era ?

    Yes it's Swiss, from the post-WW2 period (sorry, I can't be more precise there, as it is not my area of expertise).

    Rank is Oberst-Brigadier/Colonel-brigadier, later re-designated simply Brigadier. Black is the branch color for general staff; a brigadier not in command would wear the rank patch with a grey basecloth background matching the cap color.
