Hello guys! I was looking at purchasing this, but I wanted to run it by you guys for an authenticity check.
According to the seller's description, this is a presentation plaque given to second-in-command of the Polish destroyer (formerly Royal Navy) ORP Garland. It was given to him as the flag was being lowered on the ship since it was returning into Royal Navy custody at the end of hostilities.
I was looking at adding this into my collection since its quite unusual. I think its also authentic because there isn't really a market for fake Polish naval stuff...but I'm not too sure. I've been trying to contact the seller, but no such luck - something that makes me a bit concerned.
Thanks!
The person mentioned was a Captain Wojciechowski. I did find that name associated with the Garland (Witold Poray-Wojciechowski - http://kresy-siberia.org/hom/element...polish-navy-4/. If anybody can find out more, that would be appreciated.
