Cased Order of Leopold Commanders Class awarded to Colonel Jean Brosius.
Colonel Brosius was born on December 15, 1891, and had a very distinguished career in the Belgium Military in WW1, and continued into WW2.

" From August 1942, placed himself at the disposal of an information and action service in which he brought a great activity.
Arrested and deported to Germany he died victim of an aerial bombardment at the camp of Essen, December 20, 1944 "
He perished at age 54 after a long and distinguished career in service to his Homeland.
Have many documents from his WW1 years, and WW2 services.
He was quite well know and was responsible for some munitions factories when Belgium was invaded on 10 may 1940.
One of the old WW1 forts around Antwerp is now called Fort Colonel Brosius because it was there the the AFM made munitions.
When Belgium surrendered, Jean Brosius became part of the underground armed resistance until he was discovered and deported in 1943 to Germany where he eventually perished in a bombing raid over Essen.
