    balkan wars sleeve patches question

    Hello all,
Im a collector of East German helmets, including those used in foreign countries.
I happened to gather many DDR M56 helmets used in the balkan conflicts ´91-´95 and try to add some bits and pieces to the ones assigned to certain units.
Now I found HOS Vukovar "Kill 'Em All" sleeve patches offered on the internet and want to ask you for some help. Were they really used back in the time and if so, is there any possibility to tell originals form extra pieces/souvenirs?

These are the patches I am referring to: https://www.google.de/search?q=vukov...w=1585&bih=766

I read older topics here related to this kind of insignia and it seems to be a difficult collecting field...
    Any help is much appreciated!

    Thanks for reading!
    best regards
    Stefan

All these patches, aswell as several postwar designs, are still being made today. Ebay and the likes are full of them, easy to make a "field worn" piece by keeping it in your backpocket for some weeks.

Only was to be 100% that a patch is genuine is by getting it from a veteran or have good paperwork with it.

    Friendly cheers from Denmark

there is a good series of books that I believe spans 4 volumes on the Croat patches and was produced during the period, so you can at least see what designs were correct
