Arabian/french oil box ?

Hi, I have this box for oil, it is similar to french ones, but what is it ?

Maybe some french colony made ? They had settlement in severall place where the local pouplation speak arabic language.

I thought of that, Manu, but I would guess that military units in the French colonies were issued French made kit and expected to know or learn the French words they needed to use it. Of course, if it's not military your theory makes a lot of sense.
