          Hello Dan,

There are two makers of original WW2 Polish Parachutists qualification badges: GB Technology of London, and Kirkwood and Son of Edinburgh.

All badges carry the motto Tobie Ojczyzno, and are numbered. The gold Combat Weath is attached to the badge by various methods and is also numbered.

Most numbers are traceable back to the person who was awarded the badge or combat wreath.

Thank you for the pictures and the info popskipa. Over 200 Norwegians trained with Polish paras and received their para badge, is it possible to trace one back to one of them, are there complete lists?

              Hello Dan,

I did not know about Norwegians obtaining the Polish Parachutist qualification, how interesting.

I am unsure if the records are complete, but what is available is held in the Polish Institute and Sikorski Museum London.

              Here is their website: www.pism.co.uk

Try an email or letter to the Archavist or Librarian.

Good luck and please let me know how you get on.

Keith, I'm afraid badge number 494 was an unissued badge, and so was the attached wreath.
Also, French, Belgians and some British did the Polish training course, and qualified for the parachute badge.

                  Hello Gary.

Thank you for the information regarding other nations soldiers receiving the Polish Parachute qualification wing.

Yes I know 494 was not issued.

Here is another wing with its issue booklet...
