French pilot badge WWII and pre

Hi guys, does anyone know for sure if the number on the back of the French pilot badges from pre and WWII actually represents the pilot's license N, or it's a different kind of inventory N?

Brevet number.

Normaly it's the same till WW2 for the Armée de l'Air, the Marine is thill 1926. Here more precisions if you read in French..

Just as with para badges, Id say it was an issue number - neither pilot license number or inventory number...

Would love to see pictures if you're talking about a specific example.

I'm always on the hunt for these.

This one is obviously issued later, but like I said, is there an established timetable for these?

First should be late ww1 era, 2nd would be late ww2 I believe.
