I once found a website for this unit that showed several versions of this pin throughout time. This one was identified as being from WW1. For the life of me, I cannot find the site again! Can anyone help me to confirm it's identity and timeframe, please!?http://dev.wehrmacht-awards.com/foru...1&d=1406230286

I think you'll find substantial resources online showing this as a ww2 or post-war piece.
Insignia of this sort were not made during world war 1.
I'm just having difficulty dating it due to the very bare reverse.

I know this was made post WW1, but exactly when? The website I found for the unit, showing several from different time periods, shows mine as being different than others, such as WW2, because of the e attached to the 19. Apparently WW2 versions had no e. I wish I could find that site again. The 19th was a light infantry battalion; and the site had photos of it from before and after WW1.Last edited by SteelhelmJim; 07-25-2014, 09:05 AM.

Insignia.
Hello, your insigna look old. More good points: smooth back, no acceptance number on the back. IMO this insignia is from the 40's, the bataillon was re created in 1939. After 1947 it show a acceptance number. What is the size of the insignia ? It looks small, in this cas it can be a reduction for the" fourragere".
