    Any experts out there who can shed some light on this Indian dagger and to its value? <O</O
    I have very limited knowledge on Indian Items so any help would be much appreciated.

    I saw and picked up a few with my tours in Afghanistan, I believes yours is about 100-150 years old with a bone handle and probably depending on blade valued at about 150-300 dollars. Value could be more if you have a Damascus blade. Scabbard could be period but most are newer to help sell the knife. TPK

      The split 'horns' on the hilt mean that this dagger comes from further north than India - the Caucusus region and down into northern Afghanistan. Hard to say from the size of the pictures but it looks very clean and shiny to be as TPK suggests, in my opinion. Theses are still being made today, for local and tourist sale. However, the workmanship appears to be good and if it is a decent blade, he may not be far off on the value - perhpas not as much as $300 unless it is an exceptionla blade, IMO.

      The problem is always getting an accurate dating and ID! Google 'yataghan' and kindjal'and see if you can identify blades which look like yours. That may help pin it down more exactly.
