    Some help with a holster!

    Hello everyone,

A guy who I thought was a friend sold me this holster as a Viet Cong jungle work shop holster. I happened to see the same holster today listed on ebay as a spanish holster. Can anyone on the forum confirm this. I cant find any other references to a canvas spanish holster anywhere, so if someone can confirm this I would appreciate it greatly.
    here are some pics.

Not my field at all, but two things come to mind: machine stitched, which may or may not matter; and the brass stud and bit of leather seem unlikely to have been floating around the jungle. Just my two cents worth.

Yeh, I bought it when I was just starting out with the vietnamese stuff. I bought into the story that it was made with salvaged materials. I just want to be sure about this thing before I give it to my nephew for his collection. Fortunately I only paid 20 dollars for it, so it's no huge loss.

Could be VC then, I guess. Not sure how you can c onfirm that, though, unless someone has another like it.

Well, I just saw one on ebay that was described as Spanish military, and it was nearly identical.

Well, based on probable numbers made and how they would get to the market, Spanish sounds more likely, IMHO, but as I said earlier, I'm no expert in this area. It comes down to, as always, 'but the object, not the story'.

I try to remind myself of that, but sometimes excitement gets the better of me.
