This is, what an collector´s mate from Turkey wrote in an other forum:

So, I was beginning to think that Reibert and I have the two only known examples of a Turkish M5 Garand bayonets (i.e., those with metal grips)... But now there are THREE known examples!!! I picked up the bottom one in the photos below this morning (one photo with flash the other without - and yes, centimetre scale: blade is 16.5 cm = 6.5 inches, overall length is 28.5 cm = 13.7 inches). Slight difference in that as you can see, in this new one the screws holding the metal grips in place have not been bossed/rivetted over on the obverse side.

For what it is worth, Reibert's is marked on the heel of the pommel 'R080', my first one is 'H542'. and today's example is 'C 412'. Otherwise no markings (except for the 'stars' in the mortice slot). And I have to admit that the only evidence they are Turkish is Reibert's scabbard marked 'MKF'...

I do have the permission to use his informations and images of his bayonets !

They are Turkish all right. MKE means Makina Kimya Endüstrisi, the official supplier of the Turkish Army.

                Thx. !

A collectors mate in Germany received following informations regarding my bayonet, sent to him from an Mr. Uyar.

                Please, would you translate ?

                Thx. in advance,
                R.

Let me give it a try

''A MKE made bayonet for American M1 Infantry rifle. The M1's came to Turkey as war aid but without the bayonets (except the first installment that came with the bayonets) At the end MKE end up making its own bayonets. But they copied not the first model M1 bayonet model but the later mid production M14 type bayonet. For the MKE made bayonets, they are only badly made copies of the original M1 and the M14 bayonets''
