    Anyone say Web Gear?

When we were overseas we were not that strictly controlled as to what we wore on our web gear, this is in Zaire.
On the chest is the "Trousse Para-commando" which has Morphine, bandage, amphetimines, purifying tablets etc (and is sealed, so you cant enjoy the contents..)
Then the 3 magazine pouch, Gas mask, 1.5 litre water bottle, U.S. M16 pouch (the easiest way to carry grenades as they tend to get caught up in the straps when you stick them in the gas mask case), then you can see my knife handle (Randall no1, 8 inch blade, you cant imagine how much fum it is to see Kbars breaking all over the place and the Randall just keeps chopping and cutting !!) then another 3 magazine pouch.
Thanks god no spade this time around......
I hear the web gear is much better nowadays..

I loved it, small, accurate and really rips on full auto.
Barrel length is the same as any other 5.56, so it does not suffer.

When I left they were testing red dot sights etc, and there may be modifications since then, but for mech infantry it is a perfect weapon.

Here is a good shot of it..

Any provision for a bayonet? Was it a robust weapon? I'm really unfamiliar with this rifle but always wondered about it's quality and versatility.
