Nordic miniature medals, id please?

Hi again,

Also these miniature medals/cross were part of the lot I ran into (found together with those Swedish qualification badges).

Cross has text "Nordic Peace Berets, For Honour" so seems to be for UN peace keeping forces and for valor/honorable actions, but what exactly? Danish/Norwegian/Swedish?

UN medals clasp has text "The Nobel Peace Prize 1988".

Mat, all UN Piece Keeping Forces received the Nobel Prize in 1988. The center mini might be for the Finnish UN PKF (just guessing given the Finnish Rose). The Swedes wore blue berets, hence I think the concept "Nordic Piece Berets" is the collective word for Nordic PKF. If they are "original" I wouldn't know, as I haven't seen them before, but the center mini looks rather "cheapish" and resembles some other "gum machine types" I've seen.

Ok Peter, thanks again! Yes, Finnish rosette on the middle one! I will ask from local collector of UN medals if he knows more about it! I thought all what I found were "foreign"

Any idea about the Sjöforsvaret medal?

Hi,

The middle medal is The Nordic Blue Berets Medal of Honour c.2005. Two classes bronze and silver. Replaced the rounded medal type.

Mat, probably Danish or Norwegian. I doubt you'll find an Icelandic medal without at least one word ending with "ur"
