Both nice good medals IMO... I picked mine up in Madrid! The other medal (victory parade commemoration participation medal
I assume) looks OK too,I used to own that one as well...Now I don't remember what happened to mine!
Totally forgot about it until I saw yours!
I now only have the long ribbon one which came with its issue cardboard box!

Hi Peter,
Both medals are post-war, the first is the Campaign Medal 1936/1939, was granted to all those fighters General Franco's Nationalist, manufactured by Egaña.
The second is a medal commemorating the civil war that was sold to raise funds by the Falange, and could buy everyone who paid 6 pesetas of the time, there was a version in silver that was sold at the price of 3,000 pesetas.
Both are original, and postwar accordingly.
Julio.
PD. - A rectification, Campaign Medal was granted before the end of the war, the postwar say this coin is that most of the medals were awarded after the war.Last edited by JCM - 1963; 07-25-2013, 12:36 AM.

They are good, IMO. I totally agree with JCM.
both medals are (and were) very common. Many of them were awarded (and bought). So, as they are so common and there are so many of them available nowadays at a reasonable price, there is no reason to think they are fakes. I hope to have been of some help.

Only one more appreciation :
The Campaign Medal exists in two forms, vanguard and rearguard . This is known by looking at the edge of the tape . If this edge is black , it belongs to vanguard , if it's green , to rearguard.
There are more variations in terms of manufacture , so for example, the earliest manufacture and delivered to the Condor Legion , carry on your frame , just below where the ball will ring , so between us, the Spanish collectors , a figure called "torch" or " pineapple " . His is not those first manufactured but is highly original .
This award was delivered in a cardboard box ( I own one ) and wax paper. In the box you can read the name of the manufacturer , with his old address and phone number.
If you would like to see pictures of the box, contact me.
As for your second issue , all right , including the information that you have provided other comrades . I also own a copy that was purchased by my grandfather.
My best regards

My contribution:
A lot of 50.000 Campaign medals were manufactured by Egaña in 1938, almost one year before the war ended. The main part of them were awarded to italian and german soldiers.
The medal was established in 1937 and it´s known that the ultimate design do exist in early 1938. This is the reason why the date of the begining of the war is present, but not the final one.
By my experience, I think the first issue haven´t any MM. So, the Tyler´s one maybe a war time original.
About the other medal posted in this thread, it´s can´t be consider a decoration. It´s worth and meaning is similar to a german WHW tinnie.
