Crash , Dispach Rider or Paratrooper Helmet

Hoping somebody can help me id this helmet. Back skirt is padded and it has a loose pad inside. I'm not sure it belongs there. Pad has some large stitch holes and I dont see any holes inside helmet the line up. Under liner it looks like a padding may have been glued around outer rim at one time. Hand drawn emblem on front. Sword and Thistle??. Also has chincup. Color is green or OD.

Could this be WWII British?? Help, please!

Looks like a French trainer to me - no idea on the markings.

Riding helmet? The thistle is, of course, a Scots emblem, but doesn't look like any military version I've seen in British use.

I don't like the liner as military and the extra stitch holes in the fabric might be a result of its being used by a local pony club and modified to fit one or more teenage heads.

                  My two cents worth!

                    ?

Thanks for comments. I'm still a bit lost on this one. I thought it may be military because of the OD color. Could be a horse riding helmet, I didnt think of that one. Could it be military cav?

I suppose it might be a military riding helmet. Maybe Scots Dragoon Guards, if they have any mounted men on the strength these days.

Sorry Scotty! Didn't realize your 'looks like a French...' was a definite ID. You're right of course, it is French based on the site you've posted. Do Scottish Thistle's grow in France? I know they grow here in Canada. Big and prickly, [sort of like a girl I know! ]
