    Imperial Russian Badge

    Below is the front and back of an Imperial Russian regimental unit badge. My question is, does anyone know what the exact information on the unit and potentially a value related to such and item. Some time back I had gotten information from a Russian dealer noting that it was for a cossack unit and the bronze color denoted badge for EM's and non-coms. Note the enamealed St George Cross at bottom, presumably for the unit receiving this award. The date of 1570 -1870 also indicated in enamealed area.

      You have a Don Cossack Army Badge,

      Shield in the center is the emblem of the Don District.

      Your badge looks modified on the reverse, The screw post seems cut and the pin attachment applied.

      Effects Price a little..to some collectors.

      I'll take a guess.. approx $350.00 to 700.00. i know its a large price spread but comparables dont come up often..
