      I checked Huffs book;

      I recall the one variation (F-3) made without rivets, but that is type I have never seen but in this book. Could be even some field made gift for some pilot - not meant to be actual Pilots Badge.

      Huff states that Field issues were possible because of the situation in the end of war (lack of material..). Not true - We had so few Pilots altogether, that there were still tens of unissued Pilot Badges in makers stock after war ended ...and they were sold to collectors at the 1970's...

        The best is to listen the ones who know - I did BEFORE buying.

        Merci (you know who you are)

            Your badge does NOT look OK, Steve. There weren´t many makers of awards in Finnland during the war. Why one rivited version and one without rivets? Besides that I don´t like the finnish of your badge. Looks Polish made to me. Sorry.

                    Hiya Steve,

                    Looks like you're going to get this sorted out. My fingers are crossed for you. It is a disgrace that Bosley's can get away with passing this off, but then again, that doesn't really surprise me!

                    Remember, to be polite on the phone, if possible

                    Cheers mate!

                      Any UK dealers out there who can help ???

                        I wish I could help you more, but Bosleys are really making this hard...

                        I promise I will make the very famous - at least in Finland

                              Is it then safe to assume that any pilot badge with rivets and nice enamel work is genuine or is there some high-quality fakes going around too?

                                Well, one thing's for sure....

                                It's safe to assume one should do their homework and research before bidding at auction, or buying from any source whatsoever. I cannot imagine buying a piece and then authenticating it...... Just my 2 cents, for what it's worth!
