French Metro para beret badge Help please

    Hi,
Can anyone help date this beret badge. Also, what is it's exact designation with the anchor ? It is marked Drago , Paris to the back along with a cross-hatch pattern to the reverse. Any help would be appreciated. Any value ?
    Thanks, Mitch

Its a modern marine para badge, the metro para badge is the same as the legion one.

The Marine paras used to be the Colonial paras and had a round brass badge before, also with anchor etc.

          Hello,
          for French insignia :http://www.i-m-l.com/

          go to "catalogue"...

in "Mots clefs" put the word "beret" then "rechercher" it is page 28 (number 28 below on the page)

I had an article published in the ASMIC Journal some years back on French para badges. Inaccessable, since i just moved, but i believe this form of the Marine Para badge was adopted in 1961.

There are fine points for determining age - Drago for example had a variety of addresses over the years which they put on their para badges.

This badge also exists in a riveted, solid 2-piece version.
