Winged Cloth Badge

Hello Gents:

Would anyone be so kind as to tell me what this winged cloth badge is? It seems like it might be 1930's - WWII vintage, but I am uncertain as to the type of badge it is, country or origin, etc.

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

The swords are not precisely scimitars but they don't look European either, so I'd guess its from somewhere 'east of Suez', as Kipling would say or possibly Eastern Europe, given the red star. Suggest you look at Chinese badges. Good luck!
