was me lucky today? :D /uniforms.../

Yes, seems I was lucky Quite a complete set of 30's tunics, that belonged to an artillery Poruchyk /Leutnant/. Unfortunately the combat green tunic is badly eaten by moths, but there's no moth damage to the other 3. Also the same green one and the white summer tunic are heavily stained, but again this does make me less happy
I think dry cleaning would be a good idea, at least for the green and the white. But how about the buttons, remove them for the cleaning or not?

There are pros and cons to cleaning, but if you have a very good dry cleaner, they will wrap the buttons and any other areas that could be damaged with foil, so the finish is not damaged. I tried a local dry cleaner who has done US Civil War uniforms and other older pieces, and the tunic I used as an experiment came out just fine. No major glowing under UV, either!

Thanks for the opinions! The blue and the mustard tunics I think not to touch, they are clean enough just the way they are. The green one - it is the opposite, too much gone I usually stick to the rule to keep things "as found", but the white tunic IMHO really needs an attempt for salvation. Just look at the pictures, all of it has a layer of dirt, but worst of all there is a huge stain on the back and the shoulders, also many other stains. It is complete and with no holes, but looks durty like a mop! And not only looks, but indeed is Here, this was shining white once upon a time, now is well covered with dirt...

Things get worse - overall all dirty, the colar is as clean as if worn by a DAK soldier /you know, they had not enough water to bath /, but the area of the first button is even worse with that big stain...

The huge stain on the back. On the picture looks much better, in reality it is worse

Sure, Mr. Reserach! The shoulder boards and collar tabs of the white one are seen on the upper pictures. Here are the collar tabs fo the blue one /in fact the boards and tabs of all the 4 are quite the same/.

Collar and board on the light-mustard color tunic. BTW this is red color, no matter that looks purple on the images.

The collar pathes were different for the different branches. The color of the base part varies, also the upper part can be gold or silver. The infantry and some other branches have red base /see the picture below/, the artillery - black base /like the 4 tunics discussed, which belonged to the same artillery leutnant/, the AF - blue base. There may be other colors as well, but the Bulgarian uniforms are rare to see even in Bulgaria... And absolutely no reference books yet.
Shoulder boards also vary. For infantry, artillery and some other branches they have red base. But I think the metallic textile pads are gold for one and silver for other, this made the difference infantry - artilley... may be wrong... The AF had blue shoulder boards. Also have seen on greenish-olive base... The navy... not quite sure, black and white or yellow maybe? The one on the picture below is NCO, I think. And of course the buttons varied - crossed cannons with a flaming bomb for the artillery, crowned anchor for the Navy, crowned propeller for the AF, crowned lion for the rest.

Forgot to add - no, the collar tabs are all sewn, not screwback. And no, there are no labels at all, I don't think the Bulgarian taylors ever put ones /maybe some special for the generals?/

Ok, I started the show, so let it go on.

How many Bulgarian royal visors have you seen? No matter that have searched, I have ever seen only 3 in flesh, including this one /the 3-4 in the National Historical museum do not count /. Such a shame someone removed the visor!!! For what??? But anyway, I like it very very much! Will get a visor from an early commie visor /they used exactly the same/ and will restore it! I was going to take it anyway, but anyway it was coming with the tunics.

So, it is artillery leutnant visor /visor without visor /, blue cloth, red piping and black velvet around.
