He is right, it is original, but a wrong ribbon, and it looks like a new ribbon.

I don't believe this is a scarce medal. I don't know what a current value would be, but I think it's would be very moderate.

With right ribbon it is in 30-40 dollar range.

The medal is a Serbian WW1 Commemorative Cross, by the looks of it, probably made by Huguenin Frères.

You see these often on ebay, so you should be able to compare prices easy enough.
