Cool! I would like to see more and discuss some details on the various ODM's.
I just received a 1st Class 1916-17 War Cross (w/palm) and think it's actually a cast copy of an original Huguenin example. I am trying to contact the dealer on what his thoughts are on it.

Royal Order of George I - The Order was created in 1915 by King Constantine I of Greece and was awarded to those who distinguished themselves in causes of their nations. The badge of the Order was a white-enamelled Latin Cross, in silver for the Silver Cross class, in gold for the higher classes, with a wreath of laurels between the arms of the cross. The obverse central disc was in red enamel, bearing the crowned back-to-back monogram "ΓI" (for George I of Greece), surrounded by a white enamel ring bearing the motto "IΣXΥΣ MOΥ H AΓAΠH TOΥ ΛAOΥ" (My Strength is the Love of the People). Commemorative Medal for National Resistance, 1941-1945 - Circular bronze medal with laterally pierced ball suspension; the face with a member of the Greek Resistance, a rifle in his left hand, the Greek national flag in his right; the reverse inscribed ‘ΕΘΝΙΚΗ ΑΝΤΙΣΤΑΣΗ’ (National Resistance) anmd dated ‘1941-1945’; on original ribbon. The medal was instituted on 22 December 1948 to be awarded to those who had participated in or supported the Greek resistance to German, Italian and Bulgarian forces of occupation during World War II.

Well, some lookers but not many posters...
I did verify that the War Cross in question above (post #3) is in fact a cast copy. No one I talked to, including George Stratoudakis, has ever seen or heard of this medal being faked...until now.
The seller denies it of course, always the same old story...all my medals come directly from the vet's/families...100% original!!
Thank God for Paypal and Amex or I'd still be playing with this guy on the return/refund. Anyway, so as not to detract from this thread, I'll start a separate one showing the copy in detail.
I was hoping to see more campaign medals posted here. Here's another shot of a 1914 Greek-Bulgarian War Campaign Medal with the original box.
Would like to see and learn more about these 1912 & 1913 medals and clasps.

Thought I would bump this old thread up again and add some information to see if anyone else has anything to add.

Here's a very nice 1916-17 War Cross (2nd class) with three small stars for subsequent award or being mentioned in the "Order of the Day". These are hard to find.
The small stars are supposed to be in silver only. I suspect the bronze one may be a replacement for a missing star.
This one is of the first variety manufactured by Sue/Rivaud.

I sold this Greek Cross of Valor on eBay back in 2006. In the original satin lined fitted award case, embossed "Godet, Berlin".Comment

Here's another, rather nice condition, 1917 Medal of Military Merit (3rd class) by Sue/Rivaud.
Initially, the medal was awarded for distinguished acts in time of war and normally were issued with a wreath as shown above in the group shot.
After WW1, the medal was also for continous military service in peacetime or exceptional commanding abilities and the wreath was replaced with the palm. So, perhaps an award for post-WW1 service and before the medal was replaced by the "Medal for Outstanding Acts" -- http://dev.wehrmacht-awards.com/foru...t=Greek+Medals

Let's refresh a bit this thread
Another collector of Greek Orders and Medals.
As I cannot see representative example of this Order in here, what I show you is the Greece Order of the Redeemer IV class (in Gold) ,the oldest order of this country.
This one ,is from Balkan Wars era and WW I (so from 1912-1918).
