    Uniform study images Central and South America 1930's-40's

    I thought it would be fun to start a thread similar to the "Uniform study images" ones in the Italian & other Axis-section of this forum. But this time focusing on the forces of Central and South America during the 30's and 40's!

    I'll start with some photos of Argentine forces during the 30's and 40's;

      No problem! Here are some more photos of Argentine troops from my digital library;

      Note the helmet decal,

      Personally I'd like to have that NCO uniform with the 'litzen' in my collection one day.

      I'd love to see more photos, epecially of Chilean, Mexican and Brazilian(in their regular uniforms, not the US ones) troops. I know that the Chilean army is very German-influenced and have been ever since the 1870's so I'd love to see photos of Chilean troops from the 1930's and 40's.

        The Chilean Army adopted full Prussian uniforms and traditions in 1905 (The Spike Helmet was adopted in 1899 and the uniforms in 1905). Before that year they still wore French uniforms and gear, except the Navy which is inspired on British traditions still today.

        I will look for pictures if you want. Meanwhile, here are some.

            Very interesting photos. I wonder if any of the German/Argentinian helmets still exist in collections today.

            If I remember my Third Reich history, Ernst Roehm was a military advisor to the Bolivian army during the 1920's. Returning to Germany and becoming the leader of the SA.

                Peruvian troops. Look at the helmets, Adrian and Italian M33?

                  I am a collector from Argentina and I have helmets as showed in the pics, the german shaped are very rare as they were made of pressed felt, I have a couple of those.
