Do You Know What this is?????

    Dear All,
I am off to Bradford and Scotland on business for the week, so I thought I would post this little beauty for you to ponder. My wife got this for me a couple of years ago, she was under the impression that it was one thing, but it certainly wasn't.

The seller told her it was SAS WWII/post WWII wind smock. From further investigation and speaking to both English and French vets {a vague clue there} I think I have uncovered the truth......But you may know better

The cut of the jacket looks like a French Model 47/53 paratrooper smock, but I haven't a clue what the pattern is...

Okay... Now I'm really confused. The camouflage pattern appears to be the Hungarian M49.

                Chris & Marcus,

Thanks for the replies, as I said before,my wife got this for me and the seller advised her that it was an FFL SAS wind pattern material. As you can see its not.

After ages of searching and picking peoples brains, I eventually came across an ex Brit and French legionnaire, they both advised me that it was an expiermental late 40's early 50's material that was used primarily for their elite African para's in their employ {ie French Government}.

The jacket has seen some field service, with repairs etc, not an overly common French item.......unless you know any different

                      Hi Simon,

i know these kind of fakes for 3 years, and yes it came from France. As Indochina camo equipment are out of price here in France , some guys are making money
French in indochina use all that they can find , and they use "SAS" camo windproof trousers and jacket to make hat, jacket...
Your Jacket is a copy of a 47/51 (modele 1947 modifié 1951) jump jacket, Only made in French "Lizzard" camo or green...
