    Unknown Dutch armband

    Hi guys,

Can someone help me id this Dutch armband?
Not sure where it was used for and where the P stands for, police perhaps?

    Thanks in advance,
    Tino

      Tino,
I assume the picture shows the "face" of the armband and it just continues with the blue/white diagonal ......no other "stamp markings" or "letters".....

I don't know if blue/white represents "Dutch", normally I'd think of with orange for them?....I have a few latewar/early Postwar Allied Prison Camp/Displaced Persons Camps & similiar Allied "authority" armbands...usually in the ethnic colors......this may be one of those.

Seems like Blue/white is sometimes associated to the Ukraine or Russia (?).
Still open for discussion...just my 10cents worth.

Well, I'm Dutch, but doesn't look familiar to me.

White-Blue was also used by Brittish Dispatch riders, but not diagonal...
so at this point it could be from anywhere.

The diagonal blue/white pattern continues on the back, the armband has no other markings.

The armband was a gift from a local historian/friend in the Netherlands that sends me items from time to time related to the occupation and liberation of my birthtown in the Netherlands.
This is why I assumed it was Dutch related.

It could very well be an Allied "authority" armband.

For now it remains a mystery....

          Thanks for the feedback guys!!!

Well which town are we talking about? Perhaps the blue and white is resembling the town colors?

Good thinking..... the city is Heerenveen.
I know the blue and white colors are used in the "coat of arms" of Heerenveen but I am unaware that blue and white resemble the town colors.

              Thanks!
