Unknown Brass Cast Cap Badge Help, Syrian ??

This Badge was in allot I just bought. It is Brass and appears to be cast. It is 1 7/8 inches high and 1 1/4 inches wide near the middle with a screw post on the back. It has a Syrian look and is it real or a Repo.
